|
The number of people in our community and throughout the world with access to electronic mail is steadily increasing. E-mail is a quick and efficient way of communicating with people who have similar interests. The "Ask a Person with Experience" E-mail Program is designed to maximize the potential of E-mail by connecting our youth, and the people who work with them, with interested individuals who are prepared to answer questions on their area of expertise. A young person who is contemplating becoming an entrepreneur would certainly benefit from communicating with someone who had started their own business. A teacher preparing a lesson plan on waves and wave phenomena for her Physics class would certainly gain additional insights by dialoguing electronically with an engineer working in this field. An unemployed youth might really benefit from suggestions as to how to enter a particular occupational area. The Ask a Person with Experience E-mail Program is not meant to be a long term advising relationship but a quick, economical and time effective way to share valuable Information for the benefit of our youth. Response TimeOur "e-mail advisors" have agreed to respond to questions from our participants at their earliest convenience. We hope in most cases that responses to questions would be forwarded via the internet within a three day time frame. Responses will go directly to the individual who ask the question and a copy will also be posted on our Question Board.
